I wish I knew more about the differences between Medicare and MediCal. I was on MediCal when I didn't have insurance for my son when I was out of work. I was supposed to pay $25.00 a month, which included a psych appointment once a month and all meds necessary. I never had to deal with MediCare. I wish I had an answer for you.

Hang in there. Maybe some others will have some more insightful information for you.

The short answer to the difference between Medicaid (MediCal) and Medicare is that Medicaid is state run and funded, Medicare is federal and comes from your payments into Social Security and Medicare while/when you were/are working.
Hope that clears a little confusion. --Fred
