Do you ever wonder why we grow up and compare stories with our brothers and sisters or cousins or friends about how we were treated as a child. Whether we were spanked with the belt or a shoe, slapped in the mouth, got the electric cord, etc.? It's because the children don't forget. People think it is a part of punishment. Perhaps -- but not to the extent that 30 years later it is that simple to remember. It obviously did more damage than we believe.
